Albert Hammond Jr, the guitarist and songwriter of The Strokes, has announced his fifth solo album, "Melodies On Hiatus," along with its lead single, '100-99,' featuring GoldLink. The album, co-written with Simon Wilcox and featuring collaborations from renowned artists like Arctic Monkeys' drummer Matt Helders, Rainsford, and Steve Stevens, will be released on June 23 and is available for pre-order.

With 19 tracks, this album is Hammond Jr's longest release to date and comes with a series of visual aids that connect the tracks. Directors Angela Ricciardi and Silken Weinberg described the five music videos for "Melodies On Hiatus" as a series of scenes that string together "one very long night" in a larger space.

Hammond Jr expressed his excitement about the collaboration with GoldLink, saying that the track was something he had wanted to work on for a long time, inspired by his love of hip-hop. The LP also features the work of Tony Hoffer (Beck, Air) and Dave Cooley (Paramore, Tame Impala), who mixed and mastered the album.

In a recent interview, Hammond Jr spoke candidly about the future of The Strokes, stating that the band may never split up and could continue for another two decades.

Albert Hammond Jr is set to attack the live stage this September for his ‘AHJ on Hiatus’ Tour, dates as follows:
